Given its India-India popularity, one would have expected that Surya would break the language barrier and explore Hindi cinema. However, there is an opinion that the Tamil film industry has been taken by the southern superstar storm. The actor, who is counting down the hours to the release of his ambitious film Saurarai Potru, admits that he is divided about making Bollywood his next stop. “I don’t just believe in giving dialogue; I have to be able to speak through language. I can’t give all this as an actor if I don’t get language. I am trying to learn Hindi,” Suriya reveals.
However, now his focus is on the support provided by Guneet Munga, the founder of Air Deccan, G.R. Shows the history of Gopinath’s life. “He is from Karnataka, and has changed India’s aviation industry. He allowed us to make a film, and I enjoyed taking his story across the country.”

Contrary to its past performances marked with huts and whistles in theaters, Sorarai Potru will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The actor-producer insists that digital publishing is practical given the current circumstances. “Hopefully, after six months, we can start discussions with Amazon to take it to movie theaters. That way, those who still want to see it in theaters will get a chance,” the actor explains.
