Edited excerpts from interviews.
When you were shooting the first season the second season was already on the cards?
The first installment, which was a mini-series with three 10-minute episodes, was experimental. Characters of heroism [Ayush Mehra] And Sania was highly praised, and the show got a lot of traction, which convinced the producers to make the whole season.
How has your character evolved into another outing?
The time interval in the story is barely three-four days. Therefore, there is no further character development. That said, Sania is more relevant this time. From failures to personal victories – it all seems real. Most stories sculpt the protagonist, but that’s not the case here. Sania has a part of confidence. I taped into my personal life to describe these feelings.
What are your personal doubts?
The constant query that haunts me is, am I doing enough? Do i want to be Am I doing it right as an actor and content producer? In a corporate job, evaluation and performance ratings clearly indicate whether you are on the right track. As a freelance actor, these self-doubts often play a role.
How do you deal with them?
Although I struggle with these doubts day in and day out, I try to stay positive. Believe in me and the universe [makes it easier to tackle them].
According to you, what was the main turning point of your career?
My entry into digital entertainment changed things for me. Before that, I used to make Saas-Bahu soaps. When they are entitled to the right credit, I did not cut for them. I took the risk by making this shift; Leaving three years of television experience and starting from scratch was scary. But now, when I look back, I’m glad I made the decision.
What is your long-term goal?
To be part of a web show or movie, I have to break down the image of a girl-next-home. As an actor I have a lot that hasn’t been used yet. I’ve mostly done Happy-Go-Lucky college kids roles. Netflix Originals, House Arrest, Director [Samit Basu, Shashanka Ghosh] It gave me complete freedom to make the character as useless and ominous as I could. I want to show my versatility as an actor.
How do you cope when a show like House Arrest is not well received?
The scariest part of a movie or series is when no one sees it. While people had mixed feelings about house arrest, it was the sixth most viewed content of the year on Netflix. It’s up to the people to like or dislike, you can’t make everyone happy.
