Tamil actor Thavasi, who was involved in films for more than three decades and was best known for his role in the blockbuster film Varuthapatha Valibar Sangam, died on November 23 due to ophthalmic cancer.
Dr. P. P., Managing Director, Sara Multispeciality HM Hospital Pvt. Saravan was taken to his Twitter account to reveal this unfortunate news. He wrote- “Character actor Mr. Thavasi was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and was admitted to our Sarana Hospital on 11.11.2020 (in very advanced condition). We placed an esophageal stent in the esophagus. Treated in a separate room. ” [SIC]
He added, “Mr. Thawasi was transferred to the emergency department today (23.11.20) due to shortness of breath. He passed away at 08:00 pm without any treatment. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his relatives, friends and fans. ” [SIC]
A video of it Seeking financial help for his treatment recently went viral. In the video, he can be seen saying, “In a career of more than 30 years, I have acted in films from Kizakku Chimayile to Annathe. I never thought I was affected by such a disease. I can’t do that. I can’t say anything properly. I urge all my fellow artists in the industry and the people of the state to help me recover from this so that I can continue my acting. “
The actor’s son also went to his Twitter account and shared heartbreaking news and appealed for financial help.
